Origin of Name:
Nicknamed 'Gem Dragon' as the egg is laid surrounded by a specific gemstone, the egg absorbs the resonating energy from the gemstone and turns it into food for the baby dragon inside. The dragon is then hatched, the colour is based on the type of gemstone energy absorbed by the egg.

The original name for this species is lost to the years, 'G.D' 'GD' are also nicknames given to the species.

History:
They prefer their Feral form, though they have to stay in Anthro form to save space and to not be hunted by humans, in Opleon, they are safe as long as they don't go near humans.

In the middle ages, humans wiped them to the brink of extinction, the survivors fled to either Ecrua or Stoyla for safety and integrated to the community.

Appearance:

Average appearance is horned with ears, they are usually similar to a cow, but on rare occasions, you can find one with ears that are fluffy

Habitat:
They live all around the world, though prefer to stay in a pack, they have been known to live alone.

They enjoy all meat, though it varies per dragon. They used to by hunted by humans for their treasure and horns, though now humans don't believe they exist.

Language:
Their original language is an ancient one, not many speak it now, they speak the language native to the country/community they live in. They are fast learners when it comes to languages.

Intelligence and Emotional Capacity:
They are social creatures, with a high average IQ.

Reproduction:
Females produce eggs quite often, though for the eggs to be laid and hatched they need to have intercourse and be inseminated by their mate, once this is done, the female will start gathering the gem they are most attracted to at the time, this could take days, even months, during this time, the egg is being fertilised and waiting for the right amount of gemstone energy before it is laid. The female only lays one egg a time, though, on rare occasions, they can lay two or even three, though this is extremely rare, two eggs has only been documented once, three eggs has never been documented.

When the egg is laid, the female stays by it and the male gathers food. In the olden times, this would be in feral form and the female would lay the egg in a cave, now this option isn't available, it is done in their Anthro form and in their house, in a single room. As they are social creatures, it is rare to find a single parent unless one of them has died.

Health:
Like humans, they can get ill, and depending on the illness, they could die, they are quick healers, and as long as the illness isn't fatal, they will recover in a few days, they recover from injuries at 3 times the speed of humans. They can die of old age, though it's a rare occurrence, as they usually die from humans or illness. It isn't hard to kill them in their Anthro form, it is much harder in their feral form. Once dead, they will rot, like everything else.
